In summer 2024, Christoph Kramer’s professional career with soccer team Borussia Mönchengladbach is coming to an end. To fill the looming void, he writes his first book: “Summer, When Life Began”. After its publication, at a bookstore event, he meets a young man named Roman, who pays for the book with carefully counted coins and whose fate will stay on Chris’s mind. Roman’s world was shattered when he received shock news on New Year’s Eve 2000. He searches for the mysterious “J” and escapes to the place Where the Clouds Meet – an old mast tower where he feels close to his best friend Steve in heaven. This is a story about two lives that could not be more different: here the world champion, there the boy who never had a home.
