It was already clear that Manuel Bittorf has a real feel for language – as evidenced by the song lyrics he published as an indie musician with the stage name Betterov. And so it comes as no surprise that he is also a talented author: His debut novel Goldener Retriever is a fast-paced and tender coming-of-age story. After graduating from high school and celebrating one last wild party, Max and his best friend Chau want to leave small-town life behind them: Time to get out of the East and head to West Berlin!
