Katja Riemann – Fog and Fire
Katja Riemann is one of the best-known actors in the German-speaking countries. With finesse, she traverses the line between commercial and art-house film and is likewise at home in the world of theater and music. She recently published two non-fiction books, “Everyone has. No one shall. Project Trips”, about humanitarian work, and “The Time of Fences” on places of refuge. Fog and Fire is her fiction debut and tells the story of a musician named Johaenne who is seeking a new way out of a profound crisis in life and love. But the world is falling apart. The planet is half covered by fog, ravaged by fires and swarms of locusts. Johaenne flees from the city to the countryside, to her late father’s bungalow. She finds companions, solidarity and love and comes to recognize that she must allow herself to be happy... “A call for empathy and letting go” (NDR Kultur). Host: Bernhard Robben
