About Uwe Timm
Uwe Timm was born in 1940 in Hamburg and is one of the most important authors of the generation that came of age amid the 1968 student movement. All of his work – which includes children’s and young adult literature as well as screenplays – addresses this time. Uwe Timm has received numerous honors for his novels and short stories, including the Literature Award of the Bavarian Academy of the Fine Arts, Literaturpreis der Landeshauptstadt München, Premio Mondello, the Heinrich Böll Prize and the Carl Zuckmayer Medal. Timm has also been presented with the Schiller Prize and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
