Katty Salié studied French literature, history and media studies in Paderborn and Brussels and attended the RTL school of journalism. She initially hosted the RBB youth radio show “Fritz” and then worked for the WDR broadcaster 1LIVE. From 2006-2012 she presented the WDR cultural magazine show “Westart”. Since 2007 she has hosted Deutsche Welle’s weekly travel show “Hin & weg” and from 2011 until 2013 she also hosted the WDR travel program “Wunderschön!”. Since 2012 she and Jo Schück have co-hosted the ZDF cultural magazine program “aspekte”. She was nominated for the Grimme Award for her special broadcast on threats to freedom of opinion and freedom of the press in Turkey.
