About Bibiana Beglau

Born in 1971, actress Bibiana Beglau has collaborated with influential contemporary directors such as Christoph Schlingensief, Dimiter Gotscheff, Einar Schleef and Frank Castorf. Her breakthrough came with the starring role in Volker Schlöndorff’s film “The Legend of Rita”. In addition to engagements at all of the major German-language theaters, she has appeared in many major big and small-screen productions such as “The Ninth Day”, “Seven Hours”, “Under the Ice”, “Über Barbarossaplatz”, “What You Don’t See” and “Zappelphilipp”. She has won numerous honors, including the Silver Bear for best actress from the Berlin International Film Festival, the Ulrich Wildgruber Award and the Grimme Award. Bibiana Beglau is a member of the Academy of Arts and of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. She lives in Berlin and Vienna.
