About Aladin El-Mafaalani
Aladin El-Mafaalani was born in 1978 in the Ruhr region. He is a professor of education and training in migration society at the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies at Osnabrück University. After his studies, he worked as a teacher and a professor of political science. He then held the post of department head at the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry for Children, Families, Refugees and Integration in Düsseldorf. He studied political science, economics, education and work science at Ruhr University Bochum, where he received his doctorate in sociology. He has received numerous awards, most recently the 2020 prize of the German Sociological Association for outstanding achievement in publicly representing the field of sociology.
