Über Fritz Eckenga
As a founding member of “Rocktheater Nachtschicht,” Fritz Eckenga began by stepping onto any wooden box that even remotely resembled a stage and performing sketches, plays, cabaret, and music for an audience that was, at first, quite small. Starting in the early 1980s, the group Nachtschicht (later N8chtschicht) quickly evolved from a local hidden gem into a regionally successful touring theater company. In the mid-1980s, the ensemble turned professional, toured nationwide, and produced numerous LPs, CDs, and radio and television programs. Touring activities have been on hiatus since 2005. In parallel with his work with the ensemble, Fritz Eckenga began solo projects in the mid-1990s. In addition to writing regularly for newspapers, satirical magazines, and radio and television stations, he writes and performs stage shows and publishes books, solo CDs, and audiobooks. His works are published by Edition Tiamat (Berlin), Antje Kunstmann (Munich), and P. Reclam (Stuttgart).
