About Günter Wallraff
For 50 years, journalist and author Günter Wallraff has been uncovering the problems of society. Wallraff gained a lot of attention with his undercover research inside the newsroom of the “Bild” newspaper, posing as reporter Hans Esser. “Lowest of the Low”, Wallraff’s book detailing the plight of migrant workers in Germany, sold more than 5 million copies, making it the country’s best-selling non-fiction book in the post-war period. For his book “Aus der schönen neuen Welt”, he went undercover as a homeless man, a call center agent and a parcel delivery man. His undercover reporting about Burger King, the nursing sector and the private security sector in the program “Team Wallraff” on RTL won the German Television Award.
